IN THE STICKS

Willie Little is a multimedia installation artist and storyteller. Born in Washington, North Carolina, in 1961. He currently divides time between the San Francisco’s Bay Area and Portland, Oregon. His artworks are rooted in the Southern traditions. He has had solo exhibitions at Smithsonian Institution in Washington, Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University, Afro American Cultural Center and Noel Gallery in Charlotte, American Jazz Museum, African American Museums of Philadelphia and Detroit, California African American Museum and the Pounder-Kone Gallery in Los Angeles, SFMOMA in San Francisco, and the Froelick Gallery in Portland. Juke Joint is now a part of the permanent collection at Smithsonian African American Museum of History and Culture in Washington. Little received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
