(Michigan, b. 1982)
Visual artist whose work often explores emotions of the psyche as it relates to human experience, while utilizing her work to engage with complicated topics affecting today' society. DeMuro was a part of the Casablanca Biennial in Morocco, and has been awarded the Premio Internazionale Bugatti Seganti International in Milan, and was also recipient of the Puffin Foundation grant for her work ‘Unspeakable’
DeMuro was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and receive a BA in Journalism from Michigan State University. Later, she earned an Associates Degree in photography from Harrington College of Design in Chicago, and a Master of Fine Arts in photography from Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California.
She currently lives and works out of Detroit.
